Note: The only difference between this page and ie_workaround.html is the applet is now loaded from an <object> tag instead of an <applet> tag. Both this and the workaround page should work. However, with this page, Internet Explorer (some versions and some configurations) shows the applet as being signed by Appgate and verified by a real signing authority (Thawte). This applet is in fact self-signed by weaver.kicks-ass.net and "verified" by Weaver Self Signed.

Appgate mentioned on their site that the "personal" version of Mindterm was not signed. Even if it has been signed using some method that I am not aware of (the mindterm_ie.cab file may contain Appgate signed information) that does not refute the fact that IE is using two different verification/checking methods. One when called from an <object> tag and another when called from an <applet> tag.

IE Sign Bug Incorrect
ie_signbug_incorrect.png - Incorrectly displayed as signed by Appgate, from an <object> tag.

IE Sign Bug Correct
ie_signbug_correct.png - What the signed dialog should look like, from an <applet> tag.
